At 33, Johnny doesn’t blame anyone but himself for the poor choices he’s made in his life. As a juvenile, he shot a man during a robbery. Then, in 2000, Johnny and three others robbed a Peoria bank. He was arrested and sentenced to just over 10 years in federal prison. Thanks to the Peoria Park District’s ELITE Youth Program, the ex-offender is focused on being a positive role model for area youth by exhibiting behavior that is productive, not destructive.
